Nathan's Birthday!

Nathan turned ONE on Monday. Over the weekend we went up to Albany to celebrate with some friends and family. We went to the Portland Zoo on Saturday morning with mom and Bob, Tiff, Jared and the girls, and Christina and Brody. We had a lot of fun. We took the train ride around the zoo and about that time, Brody got hungry. He is SO cute, even when he's crying!

Nathan was a little concerned when the train started moving, but had a great time.
Maggie pulled her mamma around in the wagon:) Not really, just for second, but still super funny.
This is my cute little family. Nathan wasn't all that interested in a self family portrait.
This is a pic of Nathan, daddy and grandpa Bob looking at the chickens.
Kelie and Nathan in the wagon...
Brody and his safari hat. He was such a trooper!

We had such a good weekend. We have pictures of his bbq with his friends and I'll get that post up as soon as possible! I can only do so much at one time. Besides, I want to get some ice cream, relax and watch Big Brother.

More Beaver Information:)

So last night Nathan slept from 8pm until 7am. I actually had to go wake him up this morning so I could get him ready for the sitter before I left for work. Such a huge feat!!! If you read my blog often, you know that sleep is a struggle. We have been letting him cry more in his crib and he did cry himself to sleep. He also usually wakes up between 4 and 5am and wants to sleep with me until we get up for the day. Usually that's not a problem, but with my new job it makes it hard to snuggle with him AND get ready for work. So it worked out perfectly this morning. I'm not getting my hopes up. I was just so proud of him. I will keep my fingers crossed for another great night.
Let's see...Cass is doing great. He is enjoying his time at the hospital and is in surgery all day now. He is almost done with his second term of clinicals and only has two more to go. It has gone really fast so far so before I know it, he'll be graduating.
Me? I'm doing great as well. I really like my new job at the fitness center and I'm REALLY excited to take Nathan to the zoo and celebrate his first birthday. I don't work on Tuesday or Thursday so I think I'll go shopping for his bday present tomorrow. We have NO idea what to get him.
I'm super excited for Fall! It has been raining here for the last several days and I'm loving it. It gets me excited for football season, Christmas movies (I start watching my favorites in October:)), pumpkin patch with Nathan, gearing up for the holidays, a new season of Survivor, and the list goes on.
I wish they would get to the Championship sand volleyball game on the Olympics already. I thought it would be first up...nope. GO TEAM USA!

Just so you know..

...I started my new job yesterday. I REALLY liked it. It's at a local gym in downtown Coos Bay. The people that work there are awsome and the members were so nice. It's perfect too...I only work three days a week for a total of 15 hours. SCORE! The best thing about it is that Nathan has a babysitter that he LOVES. He is a total mamma's boy so I was so worried about how he would do with this new schedule. He did so good. Not to mention, she's so cute and one of the sweetest people I've ever met.
Things are FINALLY settling down here for me. It took me a while to settle in and actually enjoy this new adventure. I've made some really good friends, have a job that I really like, and have a husband that's really cool, and Nathan who tops it off!!
I sure wish we had more people come and visit though:(
OH, FYI, Nathan turns ONE on Monday the 25th. I'm throwing him a Birthday party at my moms on Saturday and invited all his little friends that we left behind when we moved. Before that though, we are taking him to the Portland Zoo. I think it will be so much fun. I'll take lots of pictures.

Who's that boy...(part 2)

Take a good look at Nathan's hair! I love the curls. It is just getting a little bit long.

Really. Get a good look.
A little closer...
He has a ticklish head so it made our task difficult but incredibly funny
But this is what we have now! I was worried he wouldn't look like my child, but he does and he is just as beautiful. I love him like crazy.

Who's that boy...(part 1)

Nathan keeps us laughing everyday. Sometimes even to tears. One thing we found that Nathan loves is orange creamsicle sherbert. I found some at the Grocery Outlet and it came in the form of little dots...like Dip n' Dots you can get at OSU basketball games! HE LOVES THEM!! See for yourself.

He really is happy...

And today I put some Pork n' Beans on his high chair for him to eat using his fork. We are working on his fine motor skills;) I got an important phone call and turned my back for literally two minutes. This is what I saw when I turned around!!! Can you find two bean hidden in Nathan's hair????
There they are!! It was so funny. We took a bath after lunch today.
Funny boy!

sleeping update...

So if you read the most recent post (posted five minutes before this one) you will know that Nathan hasn't been feeling his best. Well, it was time for "night night" and he WOULD NOT relax. Normally we don't have this problem. After his bath and bottle, he cuddles right up and we rock to sleep. Tonight he fought it hard. Arching his back, throwing his neck around, I was ready to pull my hair out. I had finally had it. I put him in his crib at 8:05pm and left the room. I couldn't take it anymore. So that's where he has been for the last forty minutes and cried hard until about five minutes ago. I'm assuming he fell to sleep because it's silence in there. I don't dare go in yet. I'm feeling like a terrible mother. I know people use the cry it out method all the time. But it's hard when you are the one going through it. I just wish I knew why he was fighting so hard tonight. I guess I'm always reassured by the comments I receive that it's okay to let them cry. I know he's safe and okay.

It's about time!

So we had a great time in Utah visiting with all of our family. The kids had the busiest week of all. They played so hard! Here are a few pictures in random order.

Nathan relaxing and having a snack.
Kelsie hanging in the pool!
Funny Shealee...
Nathan playing by the pool. He didn't get in the pool much. Probably because he FELL IN the night before.
Maggie is back there in the big pool. Nathan just hanging BY the pool
Nathan's first airplane ride. He did great.
Funniest picture of Maggie I have ever seen:)
Kelsie on the airplane.
On our way home we discovered that Maggie had "hand-foot-mouth" disease. No doubt we got home Sunday and Nathan had gotten it as well. Poor things. It has been a long few days with LOTS of whining and fussing. I am exhausted and I'm sure Nathan is too. That's why it's been a while since my last post. Pray for his quick recovery so we can get back to a normal, happier way of life!!

I'm on vacation

I am currently in Utah enjoying some time with my family. My cousin Mathew is getting married Friday so we are here to celebrate with them!! We have been here since Saturday night and although it's been a lot of fun...it's been a lot of work as well. Nathan is exploring EVERYTHING. So there is not alot of down time for me. He is taking his naps which is nice so I can have a few minutes to myself. However, he has decided to cut a tooth this week so he is also somewhat CrAnKy! Right now I'm babysitting my cousin Andy's little guy. He's six months older than Nathan. My mom took Nathan so I could get Aiden for a nap and now I have a quick minute to blog...what else would I want to do with my time?! Anyway, that's what I've been up to...I'll be posting pictures when I get home on Sunday!!
