A year in review!

As our adventure here on the Southern Coast comes to an end, I was looking through pictures of the last year and thought I would share a few from each month we've been here...hope you have some time! Nathan and I moved down in April. So above is Cass and Nathan gettingused to our new living room.
In May, Nathan and I joined Mom & Tots swim class and made our new and bestest friends. Jackson and Heather.
There was a beautiful weekend in May and we spent our time with our new friends at the beach.

In May, Tiff and Kelsie made a suprise Trip to visit us! Look how little Nathan was.

We made lots of trips to the beach, fog or sunshine. In June, we had a special time and Uncle Shane and Cheurisya's wedding.
June also brought my cousin Shealee to Oregon for a fun visit! Can't wait until she can come back!

Nathan learned to love the sand. We haven't been to the beach much since last summer:(
JULY!!! Tommy came to visit. We had a rippin' good time at the Coos County fair in Coquille.
We also spent an evening with The Gilbert Family (Mary is my favorite friend from my Citizens Bank days). They were at Sunset Bay for a week and we got to go spend some time with them.

In August, Nathan turned ONE! He had a little party in Albany with some of his friends from the valley.
We took a trip to the zoo that same day. SO FUN!

September was a great month for us. Cass and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary. It was cool because Tiff and Jared invited us to go with them to the Running Y for the weekend and that just happens to be where Cass and I got married!
Later in the month, my mom and Bob came down for a weekend visit. My mom, Cass and I all ran in the Prefontaine 10K and then headed downtown for Fun Festival parade and some lunch.

OCTOBER: Lots of fun Halloween celebrations. This picture below is from a Halloween party with our friends in Coos. Look at all the cutie patooties!
We spent lots of time with our new bff's!
We went to pumpkin patches!

We traveled back and forth to Albany many times for visits. I loved the drive in the Fall...so pretty.

In November we put up our Christmas tree and enjoyed it to the fullest! I loved the holiday season with Nathan. He was so much fun and it was nice to spend so much time with him.

This is a cute picture of Jackson. He came to play and layed down and chowed down on some white cheddar cheetos.

In January we had some awesome weather and we took advantage of the nice days and took long walks at the park.

And on the other days, we found things to do around the apartment! That about sums it up for the last year. It was very eventful and memorable. I have another post coming...not so many pictures!

Things I did today

So we are up at my moms this weekend because Cass has some interviews. Nathan is sick and so our day started roughly at 5:45am. We got ourselves ready because today Christina and Brody came to visit. She also had a very early morning. Lucky for us, I made some cinnamon rolls and coffee to help us feel a little brighter! It was so fun playing with Brody and visiting with Christina. Hopefully some day soon we will live close enough to do that more often. After our visit, Cass and I took Nathan to the urgent care center. Sure enough he has an ear infection and a nice cold virus. bummer. He was pretty tired by the time we were done so when I dropped off his prescription, I told the lady I would be back a little later after I put him down for a nap. We headed home.

Kelsie and Maggie are at moms for a few days. They do this for a few days around this time every year. Maggie is so silly. This is her in a funny hat.

Kelsie was reading us some stories and smiling for the camera!

THEN: I headed back to town to get Nathan's prescription. I got about a half a mile down the road and on a whim I decided to stop off at the car dealership JUST TO TAKE A LOOK! If you refer to an earlier post, I said I wanted/needed a new car. Preferably a Chevy Trailblazer. Wouldn't you know that the first car the guy shows me is a white Chevy Trailblazer (nicely priced)! I test drove it. I then asked to take it home to get a second opinion...remember, this is just on a whim, JUST TO LOOK. Cass went with me to take it back and now it's OURS!!!!

2003 Chevy Trailblazer...ALL MINE!

It turned out to be a crazy/fun day!

The Scoop!

So Cass has a couple interviews coming up in the next few days and they are all in the Salem and surrounding areas. There are just no opportunities for him down here. SO...we are moving back to the Valley! Hopefully we will know if he gets one of the jobs he's interviewing for before we have to be out of our apartment but if not we will live at my moms for a couple weeks.

Believe it or not, I'm finding it bitter sweet. If you would have asked me six months ago what I wanted, I would have said "get me outta Coos!" But now I have great friends and a fun job. So that makes me sad. In fact, I'm leaving in three minutes to go play volleyball. I will miss this place. But I'm also so excited to get back up towards family!

Wish us luck!

few more pics and a call for help

As I've mentioned before, Nathan loves to dress up in my stuff. Today he walked out with my bra hanging from around his neck.

We are also getting ready to move...that is another post in itself and I'll get that up in the next day or so. But I was going through some stuff and cleaning I turned around to see Nathan inside a plastic container and had pulled some towels on top of him. He sat like this and watched Dora for about ten minutes. Never a dull moment.
A few more things Nathan says:
"aaaaaaaahhhhhh SNAP!" another thing his dad taught him
"I shit" (supposed to be "I sit")
He loves to look at pictures of his favorite cousins and say "Kessie, Maggie"
"Mamma Poop!" real quick...whenever I'm not in the room and Nathan asks for me...Cass tells him I'm pooping. I'm NOT. Now he thinks that's all I do.
he sings "wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle....hold still" it's from Yo Gabba Gabba and the video I want to post is him singing it.
"Happy face" he always wants me to draw a happy face on his magnadoodle. ALWAYS!
"Yuck yuck yuck" anything on the ground outside gets this!
He pretty much copies anything we say. It's really funny and Cass thinks it's great (look at the pooping thing he taught him). I can't believe he'll be 2 in only five months...where does the time go???

I also feel so dumb. We had our computer worked on and now I can't figure out how to upload videos from my camera. I can get the pictures. Before this, all i had to do was plug my camera into the usb and a box would come up and I would choose where to upload. NOW, that little box doesn't come up and I really can't even tell you how i get my pictures...I just do. But when I go through and pick the pictures I want, my videos aren't even an option. ANYONE very technical?

Our home computer isn't working. The power went out and ever since our internet is down. Verizon is sending us a new modem this week. Then I'll upload Nathan's cute videos for your viewing pleasure!!!

A day with Nathan

So we do a lot during the day. Our day usually starts around 6:30am. I have my daily coffee while Nathan starts finding things to play with. A friend (Steph, Aunt Judy) gave Nathan this super cute hot wheel type bike. He loves it. It's inside because its too wet outside.

He also loves to wear my clothes. So in the picture with him and books, he's wearing my tshirt AND swim suit top. It was several hours later that we removed them:)
A couple times a week he'll ask to play with water. So I get an empty plastic storage container and fill it with water and he'll play forever. I want to get him a "real" sensory table. He loves it.

Our days always end with a nice bubble bath, milk, kisses and "nigh nigh's"
He's such a fun boy.
He also had his 18 month appointment yesterday. He is 34" tall and 25.8 lbs! Tall and thin! He doesn't even have a place on the chart for his height! ( i think the charts only go up to 95% so he is well above that). He takes after his daddy. He says so many words that I can't even begin to list them all. He can repeat just about anything we say. Not real clear but it's always a great effort. The cutest is that he answers "yep" to questions. If I say "Nathan, do you want milk?" I always here "YEP!" It's so cute.
His dad taught him to say "peace" instead of good bye. So when I leave he holds up his hand (as if to give me the peace sign) and says "peace." So funny.
He can tell me that he's gone poop! He hasn't lied to me yet. Evertime he pats his bum and says poop, he's always right!!
